Carpets collect everyday dust, soil, hair and particles carried in from outside. Regular care helps remove this build-up; a carpet does not need to look visibly dirty to benefit from maintenance.
What can build up?
Entrances and busy walkways collect grit, while furnishings and pets contribute hair and dust. Spills can leave residues, and damp areas need attention to the moisture source as well as the visible mark.
The NHS identifies house dust mites, pollen and pets among common allergy triggers. For health advice, read NHS guidance on allergies. Cleaning is not a medical treatment, and we do not promise to eliminate allergens or sterilise your home.
Care between professional cleans
Use a vacuum head suitable for your carpet and work slowly across busy areas. Clean entrance mats and attend to spills promptly with a clean white cloth. Follow the carpet manufacturer’s instructions rather than applying an untested household product.
When to ask for help
Consider an assessment when routine vacuuming no longer improves the appearance, when there is an unresolved spill, or when odours persist. We check the material and condition before recommending a cleaning method.
If the carpet stays damp, investigate leaks or other moisture problems first. Cleaning alone cannot fix a continuing source of damp.
