Leather furniture needs care suited to its finish. Before applying a cleaner or conditioner, identify the material and check the manufacturer’s instructions.
Everyday care
Remove dust gently with a soft cloth or a suitable vacuum attachment. Protect furniture from avoidable heat and prolonged direct sunlight. For a spill, blot carefully with a clean cloth and ask for advice if you are unsure how the finish will react.
Avoid general household products
Baby wipes, bleach, abrasive products and strong detergents may damage a leather finish. A product described as a general stain remover is not necessarily suitable for your sofa. Do not assume that wet wiping or conditioner is appropriate for every leather.
Know the limits of cleaning
Cleaning can remove suitable surface soil but cannot repair cracked finishes, scratches or worn pigment. Those issues may require restoration rather than cleaning. We assess the furniture and discuss realistic results before quoting.
Check specialist materials first
Our standard leather cleaning service does not cover aniline leather. Suede and other delicate finishes need assessment before we confirm whether treatment is suitable.
Send photos of the whole sofa, the problem area and any care label. Mention its age and products already used.
